A meeting was held last night of the committee of citizens of the town to make plans for the proper recognition of our men who have been enlisted in our world war. Rev. R. H. Gage. D.D., is chairman, and Mr. Frank Burdsall, secretary, and Mr. Richard Erskine, treasurer. It was unanimously agreed to erect a bronze tablet suitably mounted on a stone pedestal at the most prominent point of the borough, namely the entrance to the park, within the angle of the walks diverging from the gateway. It is proposed that all the names of those who have been in the army or navy during the world war be placed alphabetically without title so that all who equally offered themselves shall thus be equally honored. a finance-committee has been appointed which shall have charge of raising funds necessary to carry the above plan into execution. It is desired that every man, woman and child in Wenonah shall make some offering for this permanent memorial of what our men have done. It is hoped that the matter may be completed in time for dedication of the tablet as a part of the Fourth of July exercises, at which most, if not all, of the men will have returned from active service. The committee in charge of this program for dedication consists of Mayor Lorence and Messrs. Synott and Selfridge.
